At the northern end of Mellangatan on its western side is a building the body of which is mainly medieval. The basement consists of two rooms separated by a plastered stone wall with an entrance opening. In both spaces there are medieval beams in the ceiling, where nearly all of them seem to be medieval. In the southern basement only three samples were taken because all the beams lack waney edge.

These samples are dated and in agreement with the dates received from the northern basement where nine bore-cores were taken. They are dated. The first beam, counted from south, is very near the separating stone wall and has on its lower side a groove meant to hold in position upright standing planking. The conclusion is that the two spaces in the present basement belong to one single medieval house. The beam with the groove has waney edge and is dated 1283 in its outermost annual ring.
